Morning wave don't take advantage of beneign conditions

The morning wave are all but done round 2, and the lowest round of them all was -3,67 by Charl Schwartzel.

There was no wind to speak of  at all when I opened up this morning at 4am est, 9am there and it has only picked up to a 10-15mph breeze, albeit from the SW as opposed top yesterday's NE.

Royal St Georges is showing how tough a course she is, with the leaders in the clubhouse at only -4. Sure the pins are tougher than yesterday, but with the dry, sunny conditions, RSG has become faster and harder, and that is the reason the expected scoring barrage has not taken place..

Here is a top 10 leaderboard at 11am est with the cut expected at +3
T1 CLARKE, Darren 18 NIR 68 68 136 -4

T1 GLOVER, Lucas 18 USA 66 70 136 -4
T1 BJORN, Thomas 13 DEN 65 +1 -4
T4 CAMPBELL, Chad 18 USA 69 68 137 -3
T4 KAYMER, Martin 18 GER 68 69 137 -3
T4 DYSON, Simon 13 ENG 68 -1 -3
T4 JIMENEZ, Miguel Angel 10 ESP 66 +1 -3
T8 LARRAZABAL, Pablo 18 ESP 68 70 138 -2
T8 SCHWARTZEL, Charl 18 RSA 71 67 138 -2
T8 LOVE III, Davis 18 USA 70 68 138 -2
T8 LEHMAN, Tom 18 USA 71 67 138 -2
T8 COETZEE, George 17 RSA 69 -1 -2
T8 GALLACHER , Stephen 10 SCO 70 -2 -2

If the cut falls at +3 or even +4, we could have the entire field within 8 shots of the lead going into the weekend, throw in the bad weather expected and anyone could win. It is a very packed leaderboard, the pack is still all bunched up..

Darren Clarke posted his second 68 and looks very comfortable, Lucas Glover 66,70 looked annoyed all day and it was because he just didn't make so many putts he is used to making (5th on tour) on these sloping greens.. Thomas Bjorn is playing steadily..

Young Tom Lewis the English 20yr old amateur who led overnight shot +4 74 and said he "never felt comfortable all day, played poorly and putted worse".. still he is at -1. Phil Mickelson shot 69 and is at -1, Martin Kaymer 68,69 is at -3.

Rory McIlroy is -2 today through 7, -1 total,  Sergio and Rickie are also through 7 and both are on E. Luke Donald is +2 through 7 +3 total and Lee Westwood, who has had the best of the weather did not play well +3 73 and is in danger of missing the cut along with Paddy Harrington

Graeme McDowell shot 77 and is done along with Mark Calcavecchia who is on his way to 78 or worse today after opening with 69..

Tom Watson shot 70 with an ace on the par 3 6th +2 total.

Big hitters do not have an advantage with the course set up like it is hard and fast because the ball runs so far along the ground letting guys like Tom Lehman who has just matched the low round of the day 67, keep up. Drives kept in the fairway are running out to 360 yards and more.

If you are wondering what the hell Curtis Strange is saying when he says the ball is in the "Haw Hey" he means the long rough... I find little to enjoy with this ESPN feed, Tom Weiskopf who was surly and sarcastic when he played, is just boring and monotone now, the talking heads like Mike Tirico are typically jam packed with every stat that their crew of 30 producers keeps feeding them, but they still are uncomfortable shutting up and letting the pictures tell the story, the way Henry Longhurst used to and Peter Alliss does today. You would all love the BBC feed.

More to follow at 5pm est..
