Baryla in the mix at the Greenbrier Classic

Chris Baryla got hot yesterday on this toughened up Old White course making five birdies in an eight-hole stretch to surge to the top of the leaderboard at -8, but then made triple-bogey 7 on the par-4 sixth to take the shine off his best round of the year but still he shot 69 and was in a group of six at -4. David Hearn and Adam Hadwin also made the cut.

The leader is a Zimbabwean who played his college golf locally at Virginia Tech, Brendon de Jonge. He shot a -3 67 and is tied with Webb Simpson (68) at -7 after 2 rounds.
Phil Mickelson, whose streak of making 17 straight cuts ended, John Daly and defending champion Stuart Appleby all missed the cut.
