Green bogey's 18 to hand Irish Open to Simon Dyson

Richard Green needed birdie  to win, par to tie on the 18th minutes ago after Simon Dyson had birdied 2 of the final 3 holes to sit at -15 in the clubhouse..

Green pushed his drive on 18, but found a good lie in the first cut of rough. His approach from 150 yards was 40-50 feet short. He then raced his putt 15 feet past and missed it coming back for a bogey 5, handing the Irish Open to Dyson..

Dyson now gets to play in next week's WGC Bridgestone Invitational at Firestone. He said afterwards his coach Pete Cowan has him playing the best golf of his life. He finished 9th at the Open Championship and said it gave him confidence that he could play with the world's best..

It is yet another win for  manager Chubby Chandler's prolific stable, Darren Clarke having won the Open just 2 weeks ago..

It was a disappointing week for the 4 Irish champions, GMac McIlroy, Clarke and Harrington who by the way is taking a break from his coach of 15 years Bob Torrance who has been at odds with a stubborn Harrington who insists he needs to change his swing again..

This Irish Open lost it's sponsor this year, prize money slashed in half from 3m euros to 1.5m so it is in big trouble on an island whose economy was ravaged by the recent world recession..
