Points waits out the rain to win in Houston... Final results all tours.

Well it turns our Rory was not the story in Houston this week, as he went into Sunday 9 shots back, clearly not with his A game yet, 73 70 71, so he will make an unscheduled stop at the Valero this week to get in some much neede rounds before Augusta.

Here are all the events this week and I provide live scoring links to all tours, including the scores of every Canadian playing.

PGA TOUR - HOUSTON OPEN
COURSE: Redstone Golf Club, Tournament Course (7,441 yards, par 72).
PURSE: $6.2 million. Winner’s share: $1,116,000.

CANADIAN CONTENT: Graham DeLaet T31 -6 71 71 68 72, Brad Fritsch MC 73 77, David Hearn MC 75 70

Round 4

pgatour.com  D.A Points arrived at the Shell Houston Open having failed to break 70 in his last nine rounds on the PGA TOUR. He had made only two cuts in nine tournaments this year, both times finishing at the bottom of the pack. All that changed Sunday, even after a final round most appropriately delayed by thunderstorms.

Points returned from the long delay by making four pars, and the last one from just outside 13 feet gave him a one-shot victory in the Shell Houston Open.

It also provided another two-year exemption on the PGA TOUR, 500 FedExCup points and a start next year at the Hyundai Tournament of Champions.

And he's on his way back to Augusta National for the Masters.

EUROPEAN TOUR - TROPHY HASSAN II
COURSE: Golf du Palais Royal (6,844 yards, par 72).
PURSE: $1.93 million. Winner’s share: $321,810.

Round 4
Marcel Siem romped to a three shot victory at the Trophée Hassan II but was left with an anxious wait to see if he would be making his Masters Tournament debut in a fortnight’s time.

The 32 year old German overcame a slow start and the threat of Finland’s Mikko Ilonen to register a third European Tour victory.

Siem needs to move into the top 50 on The Official World Golf Ranking tonight to receive an invite to Augusta National but will have to wait and see how the likes of Henrik Stenson, Russell Henley and Charles Howell III fair at the Shell Houston Open

Australia’s Scott Hend charged from six-shots back to win the inaugural Chiangmai Golf Classic presented by PTT by three strokes after a stunning eight-under-par 64 in the final round on Sunday.
Big-hitting Hend earned his third Asian Tour title in front of large crowds at the Alpine Golf Resort-Chiangmai, taking home the winner’s cheque of US$135,000 with his four-day total of 20-under-par 268.

South African newcomer Bryce Easton, playing in his first Asian Tour event, also shot a 64 to take second place while a faltering Prayad Marksaeng of Thailand, who led by five overnight, settled for third on 272 after a day to forget when he soared to a 74 in the US$750,000 full-field Asian Tour tournament

The Championship at St. James Plantation was the fifth of 24 scheduled events on the 2013 eGolf Tour schedule, and was contested this week at the Jack Nicklaus-designed Reserve Club at St. James Plantation in Southport, NC

Round 4
pgatour.com  Tiger has just wrapped up his final round on a breezy sunny Monday at Arnie's Bay Hill club with a bogey 5 on 18, to shoot 70 for a -13 total and a 2 shot win over Justin Rose who also shot 70.

The win in Rory's absence puts Tiger back at #1 in the world for the 11th time, the first since October 2010.

It was his 8th win on this course, tying Sam Snead who won the Greenbrier 8 times, albeit on different courses in North Carolina.

He is now the odds on favourite going into Augusta for the first major of 2013.

Round 4
lpga.com
Beatriz Recari (@BeatrizRecari) has been known as the “Iron Woman” on the LPGA Tour of late for her consistency and on Sunday, she used a gritty performance to hold off I.K. Kim in a two-hole playoff to win her second-career LPGA victory at the Kia Classic (@LPGAKiaClassic).

Recari, who was bogey-free for the first three rounds in Carlsbad, turned in three bogeys and one birdie in regulation including a bogey on the 18th where she missed a four-foot par putt to win. After her win, Recari admitted to that her nerves were not nearly as calm as they were during her first win back in 2010.

EUROPEAN TOUR/ASIAN TOUR - MALAYSIAN OPEN
COURSE: Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club (6,967 yards, par 72).
PURSE: $2.75 million. Winner’s share: $458,330.

Round 3 (tournament reduced to 54 holes)

Kiradech Aphibarnrat held off a string of star names to capture his first European Tour title at the Maybank Malaysian Open.

One ahead of former Masters Tournament winner Charl Schwartzel at the start of the day, the 23 year old Thai golfer was joined by, amongst others, three-time Major winner Padraig Harrington and Ryder cup star Edoardo Molinari on a fascinating final day.

However, Aphibarnrat held firm and even a bogey at the last could not prevent the big hitter carding a two under par 70 for a 13 under total; one ahead of Italy’s Molinari.

The tournament had already been shortened to 54 holes, and there was a further storm delay on the final day.

CHAMPIONS TOUR - MISSISSIPPI GULF RESORT CLASSIC

CANADIAN CONTENT: Jim Rutledge T27 -2 73 71 70, Rod Spittle T32 -1 7173 71

Round 3

pgatour.com    Micheal Allen started the day two shots behind the leaders, but made five birdies on the front nine to vault into the lead and held on for his first victory of the season and fourth on the Champions Tour. He navigated the windy conditions brilliantly at Fallen Oak until the final five holes, where he had three bogeys.
He finished the day with a 5-under 67 and was 11 under for the tournament, but the missed putt on 18 had put a victory in jeopardy with Bernhard Langer 3 holes behind.

Langer was on the 15th hole when Allen finished, and the door was open for him to take the lead or at least force a playoff. But he had to deal with the nasty, unpredictable wind, and his second shot on 16 found the bunker. He eventually settled for bogey to fall a stroke behind Allen.

Loar held a one-stroke lead after 54 holes at the Le Triomphe Country Club and needed only a 2-under par 69 to finish at 17-under 267 to beat Morgan Hoffmann (69) by two strokes and two-time champion Brett Wetterich (65) by three

The South African entered Sunday’s round with a one-stroke lead over Amelia Lewis and managed to come out as the victor despite a tight battle between the two. Eaton finished her round in extraordinary fashion, sticking a 156-yard second shot to place it within a foot of the hole to finish with an eagle on the par-5 18th.

Round 2 (tournament reduced to 36 holes)

ngatour.com  Daniel McCarthy overcame firm greens and cold temperatures in the first two rounds to move atop the leaderboard at 5-under par. And when the final two rounds were canceled due to incessant rains, the former Dolphin earned his first victory on the NGA TOUR Pro Series by a single stroke over Seth Fair.

I was pleased with the way I played,” said McCarthy, who earned $28,000. “I kept the ball in front of me. I didn’t get out of position more than a couple of times, which is very important out here. That’s the reason I played as well as I did.”

Despite the field average being well over par, McCarthy was one of two golfers that posted sub-par rounds on Thursday and Friday, shooting a 2-under 70 in the first round and a 3-under 69 in the second round. Over the course of two rounds, McCarthy carded nine birdies, 23 pars and just four bogeys en route to his first victory on the top-rated developmental tour

Streelman hits the jackpot at Innisbrook.. Final results all tours..

PGA TOUR - TAMPA BAY CHAMPIONSHIP
COURSE: Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club, Copperhead Course (7,340 yards, par 71).
PURSE: $5.5 million. Winner’s share: $990,000.

CANADIAN CONTENT: Stephen Ames T39 E 72 71 69 72, Graham DeLaet T17 -3 73 7170 67, Brad Fritsch MC 71 75, David Hearn MC 74 75, Mike Weir MC 78 78

Round 4

pgatour.com  Kevin Streelman burned up three cars driving some 400,000 miles across the country playing the mini-tours. He used to clean clubs during the week and caddie on the weekends.

His biggest claim on TOUR was winning a $1 million bonus from the Kodak Challenge in 2009. His last win was five years ago in the club championship at Whisper Rock.

Streelman won the Tampa Bay Championship on Sunday in his 153rd start on the PGA TOUR and moved to No. 6 in the latest FedExCup standings

Boo Weekley, who teed off three hours before the leaders, had a tournament-best 63 and waited to see if that would be enough. He kept up hopes until Streelman made birdie on the 17th, and then ripped another tee shot down the middle on the 18th.

The victory sends Streelman, who finished at 10-under 274, to the Masters next month for the second time in his career.

Cameron Tringale had a 66 and finished alone in third when Leonard, who earlier made bogey from the bunker on the 16th, three-putted the final hole for a 71. Leonard wound up in a tie for fourth with defending champion Luke Donald (69) and Greg Chalmers (70).

The other big winner was Jordan Spieth, the 19-year-old from Texas who holed a 50-foot chip for birdie on the 17th hole and made a 7-foot par putt on the final hole for a 70 to tie for seventh.

That gave him enough money to earn special temporary membership on the PGA TOUR for the rest of the year, meaning he can take unlimited sponsor exemptions.

Round 4

lpgatour.com
Stacy Lewis (@Stacy_Lewis) continued her impressive streak of tournaments in 2013, fighting back from a three-stroke deficit down the stretch to capture a three-stroke victory at the RR Donnelley LPGA Founders Cup (@founderslpga).

The 8-under 64 in the final-round was highlighted by nine birdies prevailing her to her second consecutive LPGA Tour win.

“It's awesome,” said Lewis of the win. “I played great today. Myself and Ai we just went back and forth all day; she was making putts, I was making putts.”

The win didn’t come easy for Lewis as she found herself going into today trailing Ai Miyazato by four strokes after an unfortunate two-stroke penalty on Saturday. The penalty occurred after Lewis had finished her round when it was determined that her caddie, Travis Wilson, had violated rule 13-4 by moving sand in a bunker on the 16th hole.

Round 3
pgatour.com  David Frost won the Toshiba Classic on Sunday, shooting a 65 to defeat Fred Couples by five strokes and tie the tournament record of 19-under 194 set by Jay Haas in 2007.

Frost joined 2011 winner Nick Price as the only golfers to lead wire to wire in the event's 19 years. It was his fourth career Champions Tour victory and first since last year's AT&T Championship in San Antonio.

In four events this season, Frost hasn't finished out of the top 10, posting ties for ninth, fifth and losing in a playoff to John Cook in Hawaii in the season-opening Mitsubishi Electric Championship.

Round 4

europeantour.com   Thomas Aiken collected his second European Tour title with a three shot victory at the Avantha Masters.

A ball-striking masterclass on Saturday had seen the South African sign for a third round 62; building a three shot lead in the process.

India’s Gaganjeet Bhullar and China’s Liang Wen-chong both launched worthy challenges during the final round – the latter recording a hole-in-one at the seventh – but Aiken held firm to sign for a five under par 67 and 23 under total at Jaypee Greens Golf & Spa Resort.

Round 4

ngatour.com  Riley Wheeldon of Comox, B.C., became the fourth different winner in four events this season on the top-ranked development tour, earning his first NGA TOUR victory by a single stroke over Brian Richey and Patton Kizzire in the Kandy Waters Memorial Classic at Mount Vintage Plantation Golf Club.

Like the previous three events of the season, the outcome of the 14th annual Kandy Waters Memorial Classic wasn’t decided until the back nine in the final round. Wheeldon used a couple of late birdies to card a 2-under 70 on Sunday and finished with a 4-under 284 total.
It was a difficult week and a grind all week,” said Wheeldon, who earned $30,500. “It feels great to win here with the history of this event. This is my first pro victory, so that feels good. Winning in Augusta feels special. Obviously, it’s not the one that I ultimately want, but it feels great and I’m happy I came out on top.”

Woods cruises to 2nd win of the year.. Live links to Golf This Week

WORLD GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP - CADILLAC CHAMPIONSHIP
COURSE: TPC Blue Monster at Doral (7,334 yards, par 72).
PURSE: $8.75 million. Winner’s share: $1,575,000.

NOTES: Round 4

pgatour.com   Tiger Woods had full control of his game and never let anyone get closer than three shots until he had locked up his 17th World Golf Championship title. With a conservative bogey that didn't matter on the final hole, he closed with a 1-under 71

Woods now has five wins in the last year, the most of anyone in the world, and he can return to No. 1 with a win at Bay Hill in two weeks.

He won by two shots over Steve Stricker, who might want to claim a share of this trophy.

Woods ran into Stricker on the putting green Wednesday afternoon, and in a 45-minute session, Stricker helped him with his posture over putts. Woods left feeling as good as he did at Torrey Pines, where he won by four shots. And it showed. Woods made 27 birdies this week, one short of his personal best on the PGA TOUR, and he took the fewest putts (100) over 72 holes in any TOUR event.

Rory McIlroy, the No. 1 player in the world, showed signs of recovering from his rough start to the season. He had a 65 and tied for eighth.

Graeme McDowell, who started the final round four shots behind, made a birdie on the opening hole, but never got any closer. McDowell had third place to himself until he went for the green on the 18th hole and found the water. He made double bogey, shot 72 and fell into a four-way tie for third that cost him $172,500.

Phil Mickelson (71), Sergio Garcia (69) and Adam Scott (64) also tied for third

Gomez tied for second with 19-year-old Jordan Spieth, who was playing on a sponsor exemption and now is exempt into the Tampa Bay Championship. Spieth shot a 67.

Justin Bolli (66) and Brian Stuard (68) were another shot behind.

Kisner, one of three 54-hole co-leaders, played the final five holes at the Prince of Wales Country Club one-over par but his 21-under 267 score was enough to edge out Brice Garnett (68) and Edward Loar (69) by one stroke for the trophy.

Guy Boros (65) and hometown favorite Benjamin Alvarado (71) tied for fourth at 18-under. Five others shared sixth place at minus-17 but the weeklong birdie fest in Santiago belonged to Kisner, who figured he might be in the mix despite playing poorly in Panama and Colombia.

Round 4

asiantour.com  India’s Anirban Lahiri successfully defended his title at the SAIL-SBI Open presented by Incredible India, Ministry of Tourism following a thrilling play-off victory over young countryman Rashid Khan on Saturday.
The 25-year-old Lahiri birdied the 18th hole from 10 feet in regulation play to force extra-time and then claimed his third Asian Tour victory with a four-foot birdie conversion on the same hole in front of a large gallery at the Delhi Golf Club.
Khan, 22, gave himself a great chance of a maiden title on the region’s premier Tour with a superb final round of six-under-par 66 which included a closing birdie but he could not prevent a dominant Lahiri, who signed off with a 68, from grabbing the winner’s cheque of US$54,000.
Overnight leader Siddikur of Bangladesh closed with a disappointing 73 to finish third, four shots behind the play off duo while Shiv Kapur of India settled for fourth place after a 70. Thailand’s Pawin Ingkhapradit and Australian rookie Matthew Stieger ended in tied fifth place.

On an uncharacteristically brisk and rain-dotted day in the desert, two of golf's greatest putters prevailed in the first Fry's Desert Golf Classic held at Ventana Canyon Golf & Racquet Club. LPGA and World Golf Hall of Famer Betsy King joined forces with Australian dynamo Jane Crafter to go low on the 6200 yard, par 72 course surrounded by mountains, firing 8 under in 14 holes before play was called due to darkness. It was enough to best the incredible Legends field by one shot and claim the spoils, including a $30,000 winner's check.

Rory admits withdrawing from the Honda was a mistake..

To start all the rumours about Rory and Caroline Wozniacki splitting up are just that.. rumours..

Put all the two and two together all you want, Rory near to tears, not communicating via twitter, her losing to some chick ranked 185th, not in a good place mentally etc etc..all rumours..

Rory has finally admitted he should not have walked off the course at the Honda, saying he should have gutted it out. He says his teeth lower wisdom teeth are growing sideways and he is on pain killers but didn't take them that day.

He is in the field this week at the WGC event at Doral.

Here is the AP report

Rory McIlroy says he should have finished his second round at the Honda Classic, telling Sports Illustrated that ‘‘it was not the right thing to do’’ to walk out after eight holes of his second round.

McIlroy was 7-over for the round and headed toward another missed cut when he hit his second shot into the water on the 18th and abruptly withdrew without finishing the hole. On his way to the parking lot, he reporters that his head was not in the right place. He later issued a statement that his wisdom tooth was causing pain.

‘‘It was a reactive decision,’’ McIlroy told the magazine in a telephone interview Sunday night. ‘‘What I should have done is take my drop, chip it on, try to make a 5 and play my hardest on the back nine, even if I shot 85. What I did was not good for the tournament, not good for the kids and the fans who were out there watching me. It was not the right thing to do.’’

The 23-year-old from Northern Ireland said his lower wisdom teeth are growing sideways and he has been prescribed a painkiller, which he did not use Friday. Even so, he said it was frustration over his swing that led to him leaving.

McIlroy switched to Nike equipment late last year after signing an endorsement contract said to be upward of $20 million a year. The world’s No. 1 player says his swing has been a bigger problem than the new clubs, and he was practicing with swing coach Michael Bannon the afternoon that he withdrew.

McIlroy said he did not read any stories about his departure over the weekend because ‘‘whatever people are saying, I probably already said to myself.’’

He is playing the Cadillac Championship at Doral this week and is to speak to the media on Wednesday. McIlroy is assured of playing four rounds in this World Golf Championship (which has no cut) for the first time all year. He missed the cut in Abu Dhabi, lost in the first round of the Match Play Championship and played only 26 holes of the Honda Classic
