After an opening round +4 74 Mike Weir has been forced to WD from the RBC Canadian Open. He pulled out after six holes of today's second round. Weir bogeyed No. 3 before making double bogeys on the next two holes to drop to 8 over. He decided to stop after a par at No. 6.
He said his elbow was tender coming into this week but all the shots from the thick rough yesterday made it so sore this morning that he had trouble opening a water bottle, but decided to try and play through the pain.
He said he will return home to Utah and have an MRI to see if their has been further damage. He had been rehabbing his elbow for a year before declaring himself fit to play this season.
He is not sure when he will return to action..
