When I am picking winners for golf tournaments, one of the boxes I need to tick is current form. Big hitting Austrian Bernd Weisberger ( Weez berger )had 3 top 6 finishes in the Middle East swing and has brought that form with him to Kuala Lumpur, shooting a -9 63 overnight (ET), taking a two-shot lead going into the final round.
He is at 199, -17 overall, two strokes ahead of Alejandro Canizares, who finished eagle-birdie-bogey -4 68. Lee Westwood said he struggled all day but made birdies on his final two holes and is now 3rd, three shots behind after his 69, -14 total
as is Paul Waring, who shot a 65, but the low round of the day was Anirban Lahiri, a spectacular -10 62 that moved him all the way to 5th at -12.
Weisberger hasn't won since 2012, the 63 is his career low round, and he has now moved up to #48 in the world. The caddies gave him the nickname Burnt Cheeseburger.
They started play early today to beat the heat and expected thundershowers
