Retief Goosen and Vijay Singh, turned back the clock at Riviera yesterday to be part of the pack atop the leaderboard in the Northern Trust Open.
Vijay is now 51 and pain free, and he rode a back nine of 32 to a -5 66, his lowest opening round on the PGA Tour since 2012. He has not won since 2008 and remember he's won 3 majors
With 2 US Opens to his name, Goosen now 46 and coming off of back surgery, made a pair of late birdies to join Singh at 66 and he hasn't won since 2009.
Nick Watney continued his fine form with 66 as did James Hahn, Daniel Summerhays and Derek Fathauer on another beautiful day on the West Coast
