Hearn T4 at Pebble Beach..Snedeker, Jones lead..

Brandt Snedeker, who won here two years ago, played bogey-free on a beautiful day at at Spyglass for a -5 67 to share the 36-hole lead with Matt Jones who shot 66 also at Spyglass Hill. They are at -12, 131. At -11 is rookie Justin Hicks (68) at Monterey Peninsula.


Billy Horschel, had a 65 at Spyglass Hill and was part of a large group two shots behind. Jason Day, who picked up a virus from his son posted the lowest score of the day, a 62 at Monterey Peninsula  putting him only three shots out of the lead, along with Jim Furyk (70) and Nick Watney (69)


John Daly birdied his opening hole at Monterey Peninsula, but then stalled ending up with +1 72 -6  T37th and will have to play well Saturday at Spyglass to avoid missing the cut for the 11th straight time. The top 60 and ties make the cut, and 60th place was at 4-under par.


Canadians  David Hearn is T4 67 66 -10, Graham DeLaet T77 76 65 -3, Nick Taylor T134 +2 76 70, Mike Weir T150 +8 74 77  Roger Sloan T154 +10 72 82
