Rory McIlroy has just won his second Dubai Desert Classic title in six years, shooting a steady if unspectacular -2 70 this morning to win by three over Sweden's Alexander Noren, who had eight birdies for a 65 -19
Rory tied the tournament record at -22 266 and he made just three birdies but stayed out of trouble while those around him were either to far back to catch him like Martin Kaymer who came in with 64 but still ended T4 at 273, or like Lee Westwood paired with Rory who missed little putts, made a double bogey 6 on the 9th just when he was gaining some momentum and ended up with 72 T9 at 274.
Stephen Gallacher closed with a 69 to give the Scot third place with 16-under 272.
