PGA Tour Farmers Insurance Open scoreboard http://espn.go.com/golf/leaderboard?tour=pga
Nicholas Thompson had an -8 64 on the North Course for a 1shot lead over Michael Thompson when play was suspended by darkness. Brooks Koepka, the winner last week at the Phoenix Open, had a 66 (NC). Jhonnatan Vegas had an excellent 67 on the tougher South Course.
That story however was lost by the fact Tiger had to WD with a stiff back after 11 holes, claiming "it never loosened up after the 2 hour fog delay and got worse as the round went on"
Having suffered with he same affliction since I hurt mine doing squats when I was 33, I can assure anyone who doesn't have a bad back, you can get fit and try to manage it as carefully as possible, but when it goes wrong you simply can't do much of anything never mind play pro golf..
Canadians Mike Weir was -3 through 10 holes, sadly aided by a triple bogey 7 on the 15th he staggered in with +2 74. Adam Hadwin is E through 14 holes, Roger Sloan +1 73Most of the late wave will be out as early as weather permits this morning to finish round 1.
