The billionaires have said good-bye to the millionaires and the week that once started as the Bing Crosby clambake and has grown into arguably golf's biggest corporate smooze on three of the world's most expensive properties is over and our 2013 Canadian Open champion Brandt Snedeker was brilliant 64 67 67 67 -22 265, a new tournament record, breaking the one he set here two years ago for a 3 shot win over Nick Watney.
Pebble Beach costs $495 US for you or I to play and the fee per amateur in the AT&T pro-am is $16,500 according to Golf Week, of course I'm sure many of the celebrities don't pay since they bring so much publicity to the event. Snedeker takes home $1.25m for the win.
It was the seventh win of Snedeker's career, his second title in three years at Pebble Beach, and now after a dismal 2014 which saw him slip out of the top 60, and a change in coaches to Butch Harmon, he's back in the Masters and the victory moved him to #31 in the world, which will qualify for WGC events, starting with Doral in three weeks.
