American Xander Schauffele would love to be named the 12th man to Captain Jim Furyk's star studded USA Ryder Cup team after this week's BMW Championship and so far, he's doing all he can to make that happen.
With rounds of 63 64 -13 he goes into today's play two shots clear of Justin Rose 66 63 -11. Rose won the AT&T here in 2010 and the US Open just down the road at Merion in 2013.
However Mother Nature has raised her ugly head in the Philadelphia suburb with lashing overnight rain which is due to let up this morning, but then arriving again overnight and hanging around all day Sunday.
Tee times have been pushed back to 11am at the earliest.
So it will be a soggy weekend at best, further softening this Aronimink GC that these top players have already been beating up on. Monday's weather is not good either.
Rickie Fowler, Justin Thomas, Rory McIlroy, Hideki Matsuyama and Tiger Woods are all within striking distance after Round 2.
Here were the 3rd round tee times before the rain set in

Notables:
Adam Hadwin is paired with Jordan Spieth (9.42). Adam 69 69 -2 T48 needs to get in on the low scoring if he is going to proceed. only top 30 will play to decide the Tour Championship.
Jon Rahm and Henrik Stenson (11.30) Possible Ryder Cup pairing for the Euroopean squad.
Tiger and Ryan Amour (12.40) With 62,70 -8 Tiger is not out of it, however with all this rain they all will be firing darts which evens the field out.
Rory McIlroy and Justin Thomas (1.30) The featured pair, Rory 62 69 -9 and Thomas 64 67 -9. Rory had it going in round 1, but after a slew of birdies he went a made 2 late bogey's to spoil what could have been 59.
