USA Leads 3-1 after morning fourballs at the Ryder Cup

Fourball matches Friday morning https://www.rydercup.com/scoring

This 42nd Ryder Cup morning 4ball matches are in the books and after tightly fought pairings with the exception of Match 2 where Rory was sadly out of form losing 4&2 the USA leads 3-1.

Match 1
Justin Rose / Jon Rahm vs Brooks Koepka / Tony Finau win 1up
Europe led all day but USA got a few breaks including a Finau bouncer off the wooden sleepers surrounding the water at 16.

Match 2
Rory McILroy/ Thorbjorn Olesen vs Dustin Johnson/ Rickie Fowler win 4&2
I don't know why but Rory was awful, didn't make a birdie all day leaving his Danish partner to carry the load.

Match 3
Paul Casey/ Tyrrell Hatton vs Jordan Spieth / Justin Thomas win 1up
Europe fought back well having been down by 3 with a red hot Jordan Spieth on the front 9 and Hatton actually had a 20 footer on the 18th to halve missing narrowly.

Match 4
Francesco Molinari/ Tommy Fleetwood win 3&1 vs Tiger Woods Patrick Reed
Europe were 3 down bur fought back with Fleetwood making massive putts at 15 and 16 for wins, and Frankie holing a 20 footer to close it out on the 17th.
