Straka still hot as weather arrives at Pebble Beach Pro Am..36 hole results

PGA Tour : AT&T Pebble Beach Pro Am...Tee Times leaderboard

In 1971 Jerry Reed sang " When you're hot your hot" then added '' When you're not you're not!" !

That should be the theme song for golf, especially the pros !

Sepp Straka celebrates after winning the 2025 American Express at the Pete Dye Stadium Coures at PGA West at La Quinta Country Club.

Austrian big boy Sepp Straka comes from a beautiful country of mountains and snow so the wind and rain that arrived at Pebble Beach on Friday afternoon and will continue for the weekend shouldn't worry him.

He won in near bogey free style with what he called the "best 4 rounds of putting I can remember " in the perfect weather at La Quinta 2 weeks ago and now at this iconic AT&T Pebble Beach pro-am he has posted another pair of 65's to lead the star spangled field by 3 shots at -14.

I ask you, had you heard much about Sepp before these last 3 weeks ?. Certainly DP World Tour followers have, where he has played most of his career before qualifying on this side of the pond. So back to Jerry Reed's country song hit ! Sepp is hot...

There are 79 pros playing the weekend at Pebble, Ludvig Aberg who was 2nd here last year is still so sick he had to withdraw.

Rory (66 70 -7) and Scottie (67 70 -6) both managed 70's but the card is a tribute to their ability as both were scrambling at times as Mother Nature rolled in over the Pacific with the wind picking up, bringing rain showers with it.

Canadians:

Nick Taylor T20 68 69 -7

Taylor Pendrith T20 67 70 -7

Mac Hughes T20 68 69 -7

Corey Conners T38 70 69 -5

Adam Hadwin T75 72 73 +1

It's going to be another weekend of toques and warm weather gear, north wind around 12-15mph, rain showers for Saturday just overcast for Sunday so far, nothing as wild and windy as we've seen, but this is southern California after all..

Certainly nothing as cold or wet as Sepp Straka grew up with !!

Bryan Angus ..
