PGA Tour : Mexican Open at VidantaWorld.. Tee Times
While many of this tour's leading stars will take this week off before returning at the Arnold Palmer Invitational signature event in a fortnight, the rest are in Vallarta, Mexico for this stop at VidantaWorld Nuevo, which is a huge luxury theme park with a variety of holiday features.
The golf course is part of the resort, a par 71 at 7436 yards.
There are two Canadians who have made the trip. (Tee times EST)
9.03 1st Adam Svensson, Matt Wallace, Chris Gotterup
9.14 1st Ben Silverman, Chandler Phillips, Mac Meissner
I looked down to #30 owgr and Akshay Bhatia as the highest ranked player in the field, so a lot of fringe guys amongst full field, and bless his soul the man who I think loves playing more than anyone Padraig Harrington, who plays on at least 3 Tours is in the field.
Paddy is currently ranked #371 and in his pomp in 2008 after winning his 2nd Open Championship and the PGA Championship he was ranked #3.
His world ranking hardly reflects his status on the Champions Tour where he is currently one of the leading stars along with Steve Stricker, Steve Alker, Stephen Ames, Ernie Els and of course the evergreen Bernhard Langer, now in the twilight of his fabulous career.
