European Ryder Cup pals in final group at windy Pebble Beach

PGA Tour : AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am  Leaderboard  Tee Times

With the predicted cold wind whipping over the links at Pebble Beach s strong European Ryder Cup contingent will be in the final pairing today with more of the same weather.

Sepp Straka celebrates after winning the 2025 American Express at the Pete Dye Stadium Coures at PGA West at La Quinta Country Club.

Sepp Straka stumbled in mid  round  but recovered with 4 late birdies for -2 70 to hang onto his lead at -16.

Rory McIlroy adjusted his game when the wind arrived, cut down his swing and "chipped his way around for a sensational 65 -15 while his lifelong friend Shane Lowry went -4 on his first 3 holes and hung in for the rest of the day ending with 2 birdies in 3 holes for his 65 -15.

Both live close to each other in Florida and having grown up in Ireland in their fair share of horrible weather, but neither enjoy it, Lowry  who won his Irish Open as an amateur in an absolute deluge said " I live here in Florida for a reason !"

Meanwhile joining the party, veteran Ryder Cupper Justin Rose 65 69 68 -14 and International Team President Cup star Tom Kim is having a great week 69 65 68 -14, along with Aussie Cam Davis 65 68 69 -14.

World #1 Scottie Scheffler is playing well, especially after Lady Luck smiled on him on the 18th yesterday when his pulled drive flew over the Pacific all the way and somehow ended amongst all the rocks on a pebble strewn patch, allowing him to clear all around it to chip back in play and make par.

He is T10 67 70 69 -10 .Also T10 is Canadian Taylor Pendrith 67 70 69 and they are paired together today with Sam Stevens off #1 at 12.42 est.

Other Canadians

Nick Taylor T29 68 69 72 -7

Mac Hughes T60 68 69 74 -3

Corey Conners T64 70 69 76 -1

Adam Hadwin 67th 72 73 71 E

Players are paired in 3's off split tees #1 and #10.
