My first chance to watch a top professional basketball team practice came in 1975 at Meadowbank Sports Centre, Edinburgh, it was Olympic year and the European qualifier was being played.

Such was the case for Scott Scheffler on Sunday in the Memphis heat, he started two shots clear and his partner and good buddy Sam Burns was soon out of it, eventually shooting 73, 7 shots worse than Scheffler's 66, final score -17 to -8.
All the pressure that was at play when the Texan was beaten into 2nd place 5 times this year, was gone. All those short missed putts, wild drives, and pulled irons were for another day.
It was a $3,600,000 Scheffler stroll around Southwind, an 8 shot win, and such are the riches of this PGA Tour at this time of year, the -9, 2nd place winner Si Woo Kim gets $2,160,000 and Sam Burns along with Alex Noren T3 -8 are millionaires, again at $1,160,000
There will be no Canadians playing in the top 50 this week in St Louis, as all three failed to qualify.
However their full status on the 2027 PGA Tour is assured inside the top 100.

Apparently when they added up all the scores Sungjae Im T5 -7was the only player to play his way into the top 50, from #53 to #40. All the rest remain. FedExCup.
