LPGA: FM Championship
Is women’s professional golf finally having its moment? That very well seems to be the case, and this week all eyes – and the focus of the fans – will be on TPC Boston in Norton, where the FM Championship takes place Thursday through Sunday.

The third year of this event looks to be the best yet, organizers say, thanks not just to the pristine and interesting course location, but also to the recent focus on bringing women’s LPGA golf up to the fan/player level of the PGA.
“We expect big things this year,” said Dave Johnson, senior vice president of FM. “We have the strongest field ever, and the TPC Boston community continues to embrace what we are doing here.”
Unlike many LPGA events, for instance, players are housed for the tourney. They’re also given Uber gift cards and invited to multiple family events like Thursday and Friday dinners.
Fans can feel that excitement too, with the event not just featuring the top 10 LPGA players in the world taking on a breathtaking course, but with all kinds of family friendly golf-related activities to make it a special experience for fans as well.
You can leave a winner yourself by taking on the Boston Common Golf closest to the pin contest. You can test your putting prowess on the FM Resilience Challenge Course, and test your swing on the Ford simulator
Better yet, you can sign up for a free 10 minute on-site lesson from an LPGA teaching pro, bringing home the perfect golf souvenir, a tip to fix that quirk you’ve been fighting with for so long.
And then there’s the field of players. All of the world top 10 Rolex ranked players will be on hand, including defending champ Miranda Wang, world number one Nelly Korda and local favorite Megan Khang, along with Canadian star Brooke Henderson
“People are realizing how great these women are,” Khang said of her competitors. “FM has given us a platform. I’m excited for my home state to see this first hand.”
“A good venue is always critical,” Johnson said. “This is one of the best in New England and maybe all of the USA. It’s going to be a great weekend.”
