Wyndham Clark is the star so far.. Taylor T2, back in contention . Friday results, Saturday TEE TIMES

PGA Tour : The Players  Leaderboard Tee Times

The Players second round will be completed at 740am this morning when Ben Silverman +1 and Ryo Hisatsune E need to return to play 1 hole with the cut falling at -1

75 players are in for the weekend so far, for a share of $25,000,000.

Wyndham Clark is the class of the field after 36 holes, he has played superbly, making TPC Sawgrass look easy 65 65 -14 and the field is spotting him 4 shots when play begins today (Saturday.)

His two closest rivals are Xander Schauffele 65 69 -10 and Canada's National Champion Nick Taylor 66 68 -10.

He is one of 3 Canadians who made the cut.

Corey Conners T6 68 68 -8

Mac Hughes T55 70 73 -1

Ben Silverman  72 74  M/C

Adam Svensson 74 73 MC

Adam Hadwin  75 73 MC

Taylor Pendrith  75 75 MC

Weather

Hot 84*f, breeze NE 9mph, mainly sunny

That's how Saturday, moving day sets up with Clark out front by 4 shots with the whole pack chasing in more ideal scoring conditions, so expect continues low scoring.

Its hard to see how the US Open champion can play this course much better that two 65's, I expect him to come back to the field some, because if he posts another one they will run out of holes to catch him on Sunday.

This time last year he wasn't in the top 100, now after wins on the LA Country Club, US Open, AT&T at Pebble Beach and Wells Fargo at Quail Hollow he is ranked #5 and remember he finished 2nd last week at AP Invitational.

It is well documented in this his 5th visit he MC the first 3 times and T27 last year, however he has only missed 5 greens in 36 holes and as playing partner Brian Harman said last night "I don't think anyone is putting as well as Wyndham right now"

Scottie Scheffler the hot favourite is in the pack at -8 67 69.

Rory T14 -6 65 73 with 4 bogey's, a double and 4 birdies, a lot of crooked numbers after a Thursday when he made 10 birdies, such is golf !

Nick Taylor winning the RBC Canadian Open

However I am delighted for the Canadian lads, Nick Taylor T2, whose confidence soared when he won the Canadian National championship in historic style, and last year at the WM Phoenix Open went toe to toe with Scheffler in the final round finishing 2nd, then went on to win it this year and I know he is showing us that belief again this week in his play, he is a real contender in this form

Also Corey Conners T6 -8, aided and abetted by a 70 foot birdie putt is displaying the shotmaking game he is reknown for, and as we all know when his putter is cooperating he is in contention.
