 PGA Tour : Cognizant Classic in the Palm Beaches Leaderboard  

Final EDIT ***** Here was the deal this Monday morning in West Palm Beach for the finish of the weather delayed Cognizant Classic in the Palm Beaches.

American Austin Eckroat emerged as the winner. He began at 8am on the 8th tee at -15 with 4 straight pars while the final pairing Shane Lowry and David Skinns were both going backwards, +2 after the turn.


However Eckroat made his move at the 12th, coming home with 3 birdies, 3 pars and just 1 bogey for a closing -4 67 and -17 which was 3 shots clear of the field. 

He gets into the 69 man field at Bay Hill this week, a signature event this year worth $20,000,000 and also the Masters and PGA Championship, baubles amongst his 2 year exemption and of course $1,620,000 and 500 points.

Eric Van Rooyen's stunning -8 63 got him T2nd place at -14 matched by Aussie star Min Loo Lee (67) -14 both winning $801,000

T4 at -13 there were 5 players Shane Lowry and David Skinns both shot 71's, Jake Knapp another sensational week -5 66, Cameron Young 66 and KH Lee also with 66. all winning $344,250

Canadian Ben Silverman T16  68 71 66 68 -11 worth $137,250

WEATHER

It has rained overnight, lightly around 4am - 530am and there is much more in the forecast with 90% chance of TStorms, lightning, rain, listed on Weather Network 2pm - 4pm with 40% chance of showers through 7pm. Winds are light 9kph E getting up to 16kph NE as the bad weather arrives.

Schedule

Play is set to resume at 8am with players returning to complete their suspended rounds. Austin Eckroat looking for his first win leads at -15 through 7 holes.

Eric van Rooyan leads in the clubhouse after a sensational -8 63 -14 total which may be enough to win depending on today. He has slept at the event overnight in 2nd, just in case there is a playoff.

Jake Knapp, last weeks winner in Mexico, is in with another very real chance in 3rd at -13 through 15 holes.

Players at -12 include Billy Horschel through 17, Keith Mitchell (65), Shane Lowry through 5, Alex Noren through 12. 

Canadians

Ben Silverman 68 71 66 has played 9 holes and begins on the 10th tee at -10

Corey Conners is finished T42  69 71 71 66 -7


Final Pair

Shane Lowry played just 5 holes at +1 (-12) while 42 year old David Skinns +2 (-11) and they begin play at 8am on the 6th tee.

The question is will they get 13 holes played before the TStorms arrive this afternoon ??
