It took 5 days to complete 54 holes at the Andalucia Valderrama Masters in Sotogrande, southern Spain where flash flooding has claimed at least one life.
Early this morning the host Sergio Garcia extended his 3 shot lead when play began to 4 as he posted a -2 69, -12 total to successfully defend his title and win it for the third time. It is his 15th European Tour victory.
Ireland's Shane Lowery shot 66 to finish 2nd at -8.
As importantly the top 116 in the money order who will keep their European Tour cards for next year has been settled and I will post that list when it is published. .
Those players will begin the Race to Dubai playoffs after this week's WGC HSBC Championship in Shanghai.
