PGA Tour CIMB Classic leaderboard https://www.pgatour.com/competition/2019/cimb-classic/leaderboard.html
The CIMB Classic is the first of 3 PGA Tour events in Asia. As I mentioned yesterday next week is the CJ Cup in South Korea then the WGC event in Shanghai.
This week in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia the prize money is $7million US with $1.62m going to the winner.
Speaking of winners Justin Thomas has won it twice, and overnight be birdied 4 of his last 5 holes for a -6 66, but is still 3 shots of the lead held by another American, relative unknown Bronson Burgoon -9 63. He is ranked #162 and his best result last year was a T2 at the John Deere Classic.
Austin Cook is next -8 64, then Scott Piercy, Billy Horschel and CT Pan are all in with -7 65's. European Ryder Cup star Paul Casey is not with the rest of his mates at the British Masters this week. He is in this field and opened with -6 66.
Thomas has won the PGA Tour money list award, while big Brooks Koepka has won the Player Of the Year award.
There are no Canadians in the field.
