Europe still on a high at British Masters..Eddie Pepperell the clubhouse leader

European Tour British Masters leaderboard http://www.europeantour.com/europeantour/season=2018/tournamentid=2018082/leaderboard/index.html#/leaderboard

With 4 players, the captain and 2 vice captains from the jubilant Ryder Cup team in the field for this weeks British Masters at Walton Heath, some 20 miles south of London, there is a distinct air of celebration amongst the huge crowds who have turned out to follow their hero's. Tommy Fleetwood and Francesco Molinari are super stars in Europe now, and their every move is followed and reported on every level of social media.

Justin Rose is the host and he is playing loaded with the flu, but battling on to make the weekend. The cut is at +2 and Justin opened with a 74, and is at E so far today.

With round 2 under way, England's Eddie Pepperell who did not make the Ryder Cup squad, carded a brilliant 69 in very tough, windy conditions to set the clubhouse target at -8, some 5 shots clear of the field with the late wave still to play.

He made the shot of the day on the par 3 220 yard 9th on Thursday when he flew his tee shot right into the cup on the fly, it bounced right back out a foot away, then spun right back in !!
