Thomas, Bubba, Noren, Kisner to decide Dell Technologies Match Play

WGC Dell Technologies Match Play scoreboard https://www.pgatour.com/competition/2018/wgc-dell-technologies-match-play/leaderboard.html

After 5 rounds and 64 players it has come down to the final four today at this Dell Technologies Match Play Championship.

Justin Thomas vs Bubba Watson is one semi final with Thomas set to become the world #1 while Alex Noren plays steady Kevin Kisner who edged out Adam Hadwin in the group stage to get this far.

Kisner beat Ian Poulter  8&6 after Poulter with his storied Medinah putter working wonders had been one of the stars of the week, never having lost and buoyed by the chance to turn his year around and get into the Masters at #50 or better.. So I wondered why he lost by such a wide margin.

Poulter sent out a tweet afterwards which explains in part why, although he says it had no bearing. “I gave him no fight at all. It was rubbish,”

He was told after he beat Louis Oosthuizen in the morning that reaching the quarterfinals was enough for him to be in the top 50 at the end of the week, which would get him into the Masters. He was on top of the world !

Moments later, he received a text that he needed to win his match against Kisner. What !? You know he had to a least been set back emotionally. He handled it like a gentleman.

Next time I won’t listen to other people. I’ll do my bit and focus better,” Poulter said. “I mean, I can’t put that down as an excuse. It would be an excuse if I said it. So it’s disappointing to be given the wrong information, but that wasn’t part of this afternoon" He will now decide if he wants to play in Houston next week or not, or even if he is eligible.

18 countries were represented back on Wednesday but today there are 3 Americans and Noren, who lives in Florida although he is from Sweden.

Watson was due to fly out with his wife on holiday at 9am this morning...those plans have been put on hold as the eccentric lefty is having a great week. When asked why they booked a flight when he could still be playing? " I think they were cheaper" said the multi millionaire !

I'm picking Bubba and Noren to play for the title this afternoon
