Stephen Ames in contention at Rapiscan Systems Classic

Every time I hear Biloxi, Mississippi I think of the devastation that city endured from Hurricane Katrina on August 31, 2005 when 90% of the buildings along the coast in Biloxi and neighboring Gulfport were destroyed. Several of the "floating" casinos were torn off their supports and thrown inland, contributing to the damage.

This week the Champions Tour has arrived for the Rapiscan Systems Classic and I wanted to report that Stephen Ames is right in contention for today's final round T4 71 68 -5 just 2 shots behind leader Steve Stricker 69 69 -7 who won for the first time on this Tour 3 weeks ago.

"It was a tough day today. It was a grind out there,” Stricker said. “The wind made it very difficult. The greens are very quick, you just had to hit some shots"

Ames best finish this season was T12 in Hawaii at the Toshiba Classic. Joe Durant and Jeff Sluman are at -6.

Rod Spittle is T21 71 73 E.

By the way, since you always ask. Rapsican Systems manufactures security equipment and systems designed for checkpoints, cargo, vehicle, baggage, parcel, and air cargo security inspection.
