Adam Hadwin halves his first match at Dell Technologies Match Play

WGC Dell Technologies Match Play Championship leaderboard https://www.pgatour.com/competition/2018/wgc-dell-technologies-match-play/leaderboard.html

The vagaries of match play were on display during the first day of matches at this Dell Technologies Match Play Championship non more so than Adam Hadwin, the lone Canadian in the field.

It looked like he was about to lose to American star Kevin Kisner who was 1up on the 17th green with a 10 footer for the win. However he hit it 5 feet past then then missed the par putt coming back to lose the hole. Now all square, Hadwin matched Kisner's par at the last for the halve.

Adam plays Dustin Johnson today at 11.20 local time.

As I mentioned yesterday any of these guys can beat the other over 18 holes in this format and as a result Rory McIlroy, Dustin Johnson, Phil Mickelson, Tommy Fleetwood to name a few all lost and will likely need to win the next two matches to win their groups and advance to the round of 16.

Rory lost to Peter Uihlein who went 5-up then withstood McIlroy's late charge to win 2-and-1.

Dustin Johnson hit two shots out-of-bounds on the same hole and ended up losing on the 17th to Austrian Bernd Wiesberger.

Today's matches and yesterday's results are available on my scoring link above.
