Sensational Stenson's 64 leads with round 2 underway at Arnold Plamer Invitational

Weather forecast for Friday https://www.pgatour.com/tournaments/arnold-palmer-invitational-presented-by-mastercard/weather.html

Round 2 is well under way at this Arnold Palmer Invitational under more gorgeous Florida weather, sunny, no wind just the Bay Hill course with it's thick rough and fast greens for protection.

So to win you have to stay out of the rough and putt well. Henrik Stenson was practising putting with his coach Phil Kenyon in nearby Orlando in preparation for this week and as a result he took only 20 putts, tying his personal best for fewest putts. He made an incredible five straight birdies from 9-13 and added 2 more at 15,16 for a -8 64 for the overnight lead playing in the late wave which produced 13 more rounds in the 60s including Rory McIlroy at 69 and captain Ernie Els. Jimmy Walker, Rickie Fowler and Bryson DeChambeau were at -5 67.

When I signed off yesterday I wrote about Tiger having the clubhouse lead at -4 playing early so he is off late today at 1.08 and of course everyone will be watching to see what the Tiger show will produce this afternoon.

Henrik and the late wave yesterday are playing early today and so far the scoring is not quite as low. Stenson for example is -1 thru 14 -9 total. He started on the back nine with 13 straight pars.  Marc Leishman the defending champion is -4 so far today at -6. Bryson DeChambeau -4 is currently tied with Henrik at -9.

All the live scoring is on my link above.

Nick Taylor starts the day T48th E72. Mackenzie Hughes T86th +2 74.
