Masters TEE TIMES Thursday//Friday... Issues... poor weather forecast.

 Masters TEE TIMES here.

*The 87th version of the Masters is all set and the tee times for rounds 1 &2 are posted above. There are issues this year outwith the norm.

ISSUES:

*There are 88 players who have been invited, 18 of them currently play in the rebel LIV series and 6 of them are Masters Champions.

*Mickelson, Schwartzel, Watson, Garcia, Reed, D Johnson, will all have lifetime invites as past champions as the rules stand today.

*Koepka, DeChambeau, Smith, Pereira, Niemann, Ancer, Pieters, Varner III, Kokrak, Na, Gooch, Oosthuizen have all qualified under one of the 19 different ways in six categories.

*There are only 8 British players and Sandy Lyle is 65 playing his last, Matt McLean (a) is the 8th. The allocation of OWGR points is currently a hot topic on the DP World Tour as their events are being shortchanged under the new ranking system. For example Shane Lowry won their flagship event the BMW PGA Championship and with 64 owgr points available on the PGA Tour he was awarded only 32, thus making  it harder for DP World Tour players to qualify for Augusta.

* The Sports Resolutions Committee who were appointed in February to adjudicate on the banning of DP World Tour members who jumped to the LIV series, like Poulter, Westwood and Garcia will be formally announcing their findings this week, and reportedly have sided with the DP World Tour thus ending those players careers on main stream tours and their ability to play the Ryder Cup.

* CEO Keith Pelley will be addressing these issues this week with the OWGR committee at Augusta.

Group 14 10.42  Justin Thomas, Jon Rahm, Cameron Young

Group 28  1.36   Scottie Scheffler, Max Homa, Sam Bennett (a)

Group 29  1.48  Rory McIlroy, Tom Kim, Sam Burns

Group 30  2,00  Jordan Spieth Tony Finau, Tommy Fleetwood

Weather: poor forecast

Thursday: partly sunny, warm 28*c, little wind

Friday, Saturday, Sunday: rain expected through Sunday, temperatures drop to low teens (12*c on Saturday 100% rain) 40-50 mm expected, wind gusting up to 28kph all 3 days.

Masters committee statement

"Regrettably recent actions have divided men's professional golf by diminishing the virtues of the game, and the meaningful legacies of those who built it.

Although we are disappointed in these developments, our focus is to honour the tradition of bringing together a preeminent field of golfers at Augusta this coming April"

*Come Sunday afternoon (weather permitting) this years champion will be in Butlers Cabin donning their Green Jacket.

*The story behind his win will be part of Masters history, but it also has a chance to be a part that could be shrouded in controversy.
