Corey Connors made a brilliant return to play early Friday morning. Having posted a bogey free -3 through nine holes before play was suspended on Thursday due to fog delays, he added another 5 birdies on his last nine for -8 64.

"I was really happy how I finished up round 1 this morning. My short game was great, made some really nice pitches and rolled in some nice putts. "

However with the wind getting what he called tricky he went out in the 2nd round in +2 38 after a double, 2 bogeys and 2 birdies and was going backwards from the leaders.

" Second round I hit it pretty well, maybe a few more missed tee balls and iron shots, sloppy mistakes but the wind was pretty tricky starting out"

He steadied the ship with a birdie at the 2nd, produced a string of pars until another birdie at the par 5 8th to finish at E 72 and in the clubhouse at -8 2nd, with play suspended due to darkness.

" A lot of good things, overall everything was great, I feel like I missed in the right spots, tried to miss the areas out there that can give you a lot of trouble, I did control my misses. Especially after winning I have a high comfort level with this course, and feel like I see the shots well which is very helpful"

The lead is at -11 American Patrick Rodgers who overtook Corey with 66 67 -11.
