PGA Tour: Sony Open leaderboard here.
-6 64 was the number set by Jordan Spieth, Chris Kirk and Taylor Montgomery after darkness fell to end round one prematurely at the Sony Open.
That is a shot ahead of six players at 5 on a tightly packed leaderboard where the cut is projected to fall at -1.
That's not good news for Michael Gligic, Mac Hughes
Gligic who spent a lot of time with super coach Sean Foley who also hails from Burlington but lives in Florida, over the holiday break, opened with +5 75 T136 after starting on the 10th tee with all pars until a double bogey 6 at the 15th. He went on to post 4 more bogey's on the back nine, with just one birdie.
Hughes also doubled the 15, and added 3 bogey's offset by 3 birdies +2 72 T115.
Nick Taylor opened his 2023 season with E 70 T78 while Corey Conners and Adam Svensson both ended up T53 after identical -1 69's.
Friday's weather for the Waialae CC is almost flat calm, hot and sunny.
