PGA Tour; Sony Open final results here.
South Korean Si Woo Kim who is the Asian emotional equivalent of Tyrrell Hatton, posted a pair of 64's on the weekend to rally from 3 shots back and win this edition of the Sony Open at -18 by a shot from American Hayden Buckley.
Kim who's talent has always been evident after winning the Korean Junior Championship 4 years running then winning right away in 2016 at the Wyndham Championship, gets in his own way, like Hatton with his temper and too high expectations. He says he's getting easier on himself as he matures. He won $1,422,000 for his 4th win on tour.
Canadians: Meanwhile it turned out to be a solid week for the 3 Canadians who made the cut.
Nick Taylor backed up a career best Saturday 62 with 3 -3 67 to finish T7 -13 worth $231,865 and 80 Fed Ex Cup points. " All in all my game was solid, nice to have that round on Saturday, having taken a bunch of time off it was nice to start 2023 like this knowing I'm working on the right things, it gives me a lot of confidence"
Corey Conners finished with a bogey free 65 T12 -12 worth $138,908 and that's over $400,000 for his 2 weeks in Hawaii.
