PGA Tour: Sony leaderboard here
Since darkness fell again before round 2 at this Sony Open got finished, the cut has not yet been made official, however I'm told it will fall at -2 after the one player, Davis Thompson gets finished this morning in Hawaii and he is on the 18th green !
With Chris Kirk, who retained his full card here last year by finishing of his medical exemption with a T2 holding a narrow 1 shot lead 64 65 -11, I count 76 players will play the weekend.
That includes Corey Conners who had a nice bogey free -4 66 so at -5 he begins play today T23, 6 shots off the lead.
Adam Svensson got some TV time after his hole in one at the par 3 7th helped him to another -1 69 so at -2 he makes the cut right on the number, as does Nick Taylor 70, 68 -2 both T58.
Mac Hughes who played last week at the Sentry TOC accompanied by his entire family shot 72 72 +4 to miss the cut as does Michael Gligic 75 70 +5.
Hideki Matsuyama the defending champion is T46 68 69 -3 while proving once again how fickle this great game can be Jordan Spieth went from tying for the lead with -6 64 to missing the cut +5 75 -1.
Now, with last week's 39 man field at the TOC at Kapalua being a new "designated event" which as you probably know had a $15,000,000 purse and a stipulation that the top 20 players must play all but one of the 17 events, 17/20 showed up to play / holiday.
Just look at my leaderboard link above and you will see precious few around this weekend.
