With 4 birdies and 3 eagles and finally fantastic clutch chip and par putt on the first playoff hole Tommy Fleetwood shot -7 65 to emerge from the pack to win this year's Nedbank Golf Challenge.
The final group Zander Lombard 77, Louis Oosthuizen 75 and Thomas Detry 74 all fell back.
Fleetwood was 6 shots off the lead at the start of the round and his back to back eagles at 9,10 really got him going then a third eagle after the shot of the week at the 14th, 290 yard fairway wood to within 8 feet had him right in contention at -12.
Marcus Kinhult from Sweden shot a solid 68 for his -12 to send them both into a playoff at the par 4 18th.
He hit a tree with his drive, eventually landing greenside with his 3rd. Tommy's drive skipped through the fairway bunker into the thick rough, From an awkward stance he smashed a long iron long and right of the green up against the grandstand.
After a drop he played a delicate lofted pitch which rolled down to 5' and made the putt for his four and the championship.
It was his first win in 22 months, but during that time he has made 41 straight cuts worldwide.
Tommy now moves right up to 2nd place in next week's finale to the Race to Dubai, right behind leader, Bernd Wiesberger.
"It's such a great, great thing and a feeling to be playing with a chance to win the Race to Dubai in the last event. Everybody starts the Tour at the start of the season to get there and to be one of the guys that can actually finish at the top is very special.
"At a young age now you have a chance to set your family up for life and I think of all my achievements that's the thing I'm most proud of.
Opinion : So often pros take advantage when they need to, by smashing their approach shots over all the hazards in and around the green, into the grandstand because they get a free drop.
I'm not sure if Tommy would have chose his approach shot if the stands were OB incurring a 1 shot penalty. Probably not which means he and Marcus, who made 5, would still be playing.
