David Toms -10 is your clubhouse leader at 1pm
The temperature in Ponte Verde is 92F right now and the afternoon breeze is not coming in yet the flags are limp, but the greens are very firm so scores will go up this afternoon
Phil Mickelson was out this morning in 31 but came back in with a 40, 71 T35 at -2
Graham McDowell battled in with a double and 2 bogey's on his back nine but still shot 69 and is T2 at -8, along with Steve Stricker 67, -8 .
Hunter Mahan who bogeyed the last for 67, is at -7
Nick Watney the overnight leader after his opening -8 64 has just started
Nick Faldo has grown on me over the years. At first as a player he was so self absorbed, an real English prat. He was always whining, over analyzing every shot, drove me nuts.. Left his wife and kids for the college chick, can't remember her name who took his 7 iron and carved up his sports car, left David Leadbetter, bad mouthing him all the while..
But he grew up along the way, became the world number 1, won 3 Opens and those great Masters, not to mention his unbelievable record in the Ryder Cup, was knighted for goodness sake by the Queen, who would have ever thunk it !!
Now he has found a great fit with the Golf Channel, he is their BMOC and has brought credibility to their broadcast team of talking heads like Kelly Tilghman, Steve Sands etal, who are being paid nicely to memorize all those stats then feed Sir Nick the softballs..
