Sean O'Hair hasn't been in contention all year, not even in the top 20, and he has missed 5 cuts in a row. Something is wrong with a guy that coach Sean Foley always told me is the purest striker of the ball he has ever coached. He once told us on Fairways that you could hear him " squeeze the air " out of the ball when he hit it, a comment he took a little stick for..
Well Sean has already fired caddy Brennan Little, whio left Mike Weir for him, after firing Paul Tesori at the end of last year
Yesterday he decided to part ways with Sean Foley as well.. I hope his wife has locked herself in the bathroom !!!!
Sean Foley is as sensible and supportive as ever about it. "He hasn't been happy with how this year has gone, and he feels he needs to make a change in direction with his instruction," We had a good run up until the 2011 season. Sean is a good friend of mine. I love the kid. But this is business. I don't look at it from an emotional standpoint but a rationale standpoint.
"He has to do what's good for his career. He'll have my complete support, and I'll always cheer for him."
Sean Foley talked a lot with us on Fairways about how taking on Tiger would affect his other guys ( Ames, Rose, Mahan ) and more importantly for Sean, his life with Kate and their son Quinn.
He has it all figured out and I can tell you ultimately he wants to be judged by what kind of a husband and father he is rather than a golf coach
Tiger and Justin both live beside Sean in the same Florida complex so he can work with them close to home, and he has Stephen and his family stay with him from time to time while they practice, and that of course is in addition to his time on the road with them all.
Sean O'Hair did win Quail Hollow funnily enough with Sean, and now he will be in the field starting tomorrow without him... presumably carrying his own bag !! (lol)
