Little known Japanese golfer leads US Senior PGA by 4 shots

Little known Japan’s Kiyoshi Murota fired a -5 67,-11 for the tournament for a 4 shot lead over Nick Price 67,70 and 65 year old Hale Irwin 69,68 -7 in cool, overcast conditions at Valhalla, in Louisville Kentucky..

Speaking through an interpreter Murota said that his biggest achievements in golf were winning on the Senior Pro circuit in Japan twice, and winning the Pacific Masters, but he is virtually unknown in North America

About one-third of the field will need to finish their second rounds this morning, beginning at 7:30 since play was suspended due to darkness at 8:20 p.m Friday. After that, the cut will be made and the third round will begin at approximately 10:55 a.m.
