She is ranked 50th of the 64 women who started play on Thursday and in a tight match yesterday she beat the defending champ and #16 seed Sun Young Yoo 2&1. Yoo made a bogey 4 on the par 3 16th allowing Alena to go 2 up, and the match ended in par at the 17th.
