McIlroy and McDowell in contention after round 1 in Hong Kong..

A brilliant -8 62 from Mark Brown a journeyman from New Zealand has given him the first round lead at the UBS Hong Kong Open.


The 35 year old, who last won on The European Tour in 2008 at the Johnnie Walker Classic, leads Rory McIlroy and India's Jeev Milkha Singh by a shot at the Hong Kong Golf Club

21 year old Rory McIlroy is trying to win the UBS Hong Kong Open for the third time having finished 2nd  in 2008 and 2009 and his -7 63 led the field until Brown, who has had an indifferent year came in with 62.

Graeme McDowell still chasing Germany's Martin Kaymer in The Race to Dubai  is three shots back after his -5 65.. Kaymer is not in Hong Kong this week nor is Lee Westwood..
