Henderson, Sharp paired together final round Ford Championship ...leaderboard / TEE Times

LPGA : Ford Championship presented by KCC  PAIRINGS

It was a good day for Brooke Henderson and her Olympic Games partner Alena Sharp at a very windy Ford Championship on the Seville GC in Phoenix.

Nelly Korda called the wind brutal so controlling the ball flight and being patient were virtues for those who succeeded.

Both Canadians moved up 21 places T22. Alena 67 70 68 -11 and Brooke 67 71 67 -11 as she used 6 less putts 26 compared to 32 on Friday.

Englishman David Skinns can make a dream come true Texas Children's Houston Open ..leaderboard / TEE Times

PGA Tour : Texas Children's Houston Open  Leaderboard Tee Times

So Scottie Scheffler quite rightly will get ALL the coverage, publicity again this afternoon down at windy Memorial Park in Houston as he heads for his 3 straight win on the PGA Tour.

He's T1 at -9 with a Belgian,Thomas Detry, an Argentinian, Alejandro Tosti, a German Stephan Jaeger and a relatively unknown 42 year old Englishman David Skinns.

I say relatively unknown over here, but in the UK veteran scribes like Alistair Tait covered him for years when he was a top amateur, losing the final of the 2000 Boys Amateur Championship, representing England in the Men's Home Internationals 2000-2006 and Europe in the Palmer Cup 2003, 2006.

He picked up a bit of a drawl attending University of Tennessee where he met his wife Kristin, turned pro in 2005 and won seven times on the old Hooters Tour between 2008-12.

Then he toiled on the Web.com and Canadian Tours 2012 -16 before playing Web.com Tour in 2017 where he did enough to get full status for the first time in 2018 where he won the Pinnacle Bank Championship, but it wasn't enough to get his PGA Tour card.

Finally in 2021 after all those years he won the Pinnacle Bank again getting enough status to gain his PGA Tour card.

Earlier this year, he made headlines after missing the cut in his first 4 outings, he T4 at the Cognizant Classic in the Palm Beaches (Honda Classic) when he had a share of the lead on Sunday.

He MC at The Players and was 75th at the Valspar but here he is knocking on the door again.

The Masters awaits, 8 signature events next year and full playing privileges for 2 years, it would all be a dream come true for this world traveller, who's wife Kristin has been supporting the family with her job, to enable him to keep playing.

He is in the last pairing with Scheffler and Jaeger at 1230 edt.

Hey come on, Scottie doesn't need another win or the money !!

Nakajima with a dominant first win, Hero Indian Open...Final Results

DP World Tour : Hero Indian Open Leaderboard

Japanese rookie Keita Nakajima has taken this Hero Indian Open by storm, leading from wire to wire for his first win on the DP World Tour by four strokes 65 65 68 73 -17

Keita Nakajima

He has won 4 times in Japan and was the #1 amateur. This time he was the class of the field although with the title in his hands he struggled home with a double and 3 bogey's in his last 5 holes ! The Japanese entered the final round with a four-shot advantage and that was extended to nine he turned in 33 and threatened to blow the rest of the field away at DLF Golf & Country Club.

He could not quite maintain that incredible pace on the back nine but his 17 under par total gave him a comfortable victory over home favourite Veer Ahlawat, Swede Sebastian Söderberg and American Johannes Veerman.

The win in just his 11th start moves Nakajima to 13th in the Race to Dubai Rankings in Partnership with Rolex and to the top of the Asian Swing standings.

Nakajima becomes the fifth Japanese winner in DP World Tour history and his victory, the seventh by a Japanese player, comes as part of a remarkable purple patch for his nation on Tour.

We now have multiple Japanese winners in the same season for the first time after Rikuya Hoshino - who sits second in the Race to Dubai Rankings in Partnership with Rolex - won last month's Commercial Bank Qatar Masters.

Hoshino took the same pathway to the DP World Tour as Nakajima, finishing second in the Japan Golf Tour Organisation Order of Merit in 2022, an Order of Merit which Nakajima won in 2023 with the help of three of his four wins on that tour.

Nakajima could now also follow Hisatune's path to the PGA TOUR by obtaining Dual Membership via the Race to Dubai Rankings in Partnership with Rolex in another potential chapter in a career that saw him spend 87 weeks at the top of the World Amateur Golf Ranking.

"It feels amazing," he said. "I was a little nervous and I had a tough back nine but I hit some great shots.

"I want to try and finish on the top ten on this tour and then go to the PGA TOUR in 2025."

French duo Jeong weon Ko and Romain Langasque, Malaysian Gavin Green and Italian Matteo Manassero finished at 12 under, one shot clear of Dane Jeff Winther and two ahead of German Yannik Paul.

Canada's Aaron Cockerill T55 72 67 74 76 +1

The tour is now off for the Masters break and will reconvene in Korea on April 18th.

Japanese rookie Nakajima in command at Hero Indian Open....full scoreboard / Sunday TEE TIMES

DP World Tour : Hero Indian Open Leaderboard  Tee Times

Keita Nakajima will take a four-shot lead into the final round of the Hero Indian Open as goes in search of a maiden DP World Tour title in New Delhi.

Keita Nakajima

The Japanese has been on top of the leaderboard since day one at DLF Golf & Country Club and followed up back-to-back 65s with a 68 to get to 18 under and match the biggest 54-hole lead of the season so far.

Malaysia's Gavin Green carded a brilliant, bogey-free 64 to sit at 14 under alongside Frenchman Romain Langasque, who signed for a 70.

Italian Matteo Manassero and France's Jeong weon Ko were then five back but all eyes will be on Nakajima as he looks to claim the second wire-to-wire win of the 2024 campaign.

Nakajima may be seeking a first DP World Tour win in just his 11th start but he knows how to get over a line, having claimed four victories on the Japan Golf Tour.

The first of those came as an amateur in 2021 and he spent a record 87 weeks at the top of the World Amateur Golf Ranking before joining the paid ranks.

Three victories in five months last year helped him top the Order of Merit on the Japan Golf Tour and earn his card on the DP World Tour, with his best result so far fourth at the Ras Al Khaimah Championship.

A win would make him the fifth Japanese winner in DP World Tour history and the third in just over six months, after Ryo Hisatsune won last season's Open de France and Rikuya Hoshino - currently second in the DP World Tour Rankings in Partnership with Rolex - triumphed at the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters last month.

"One more day," he said. "I will try my best. Keep the same tempo, all the same, just keep going.

"I feel very confident in my game. My ball-striking and swing has been pretty good this week.

"I had great experiences in my amateur career, but I’m a professional now. I played the Japan Tour last year and a few other events where I played well, great experience. I’ll just keep going."

Ko carded a 69, one shot fewer than Manassero, to sit one ahead of local favourite Veer Ahlawat and two clear of England's Sam Bairstow.

Silverman one Canuck who improved, Finau ties course record 62.. full leaderboard/ TEE TIMES

PGA Tour : Texas Children's Houston Open Leaderboard  Tee Times

If you watched the highlights from Friday's play at Memorial Park in Texas, first you would delight in the beauty of this public course in full bloom under a clear blue sky, dazzling sunshine on a warm spring day in Houston.

Next defending champion Tony Finau was out early while the shadows were still long and the course apart from the 1st and 18th tees was devoid of spectators.

With a new shaft in his driver, he reminded us all of how good these guys are especially when in form. He just pounded the driver with a little fade over 325 yards time after time rendering the par 4's to wedge approaches, hit towering high shots, low stingers, sweeping hooks when needed, and putted his brains out making 3 from over 25 feet, chipped in once and made it all just look so damn easy with -8 62 tieing the course record.

He leads 69 62 -9 from, 2nd Argentinian Alejandro Tosti 66 67 -7 and 3rd Belgian Thomas Detry 70 64 -6..... Scottie Scheffler is in a pack T4 at -5 (65 70)

Henderson falls back on a day of low scoring at the Ford Championship...full leaderboard

LPGA : Ford Championship presented by KCC  PAIRINGS

On a day where the Seville GC gave up a record low cut -5 and 28 players shot 67 or less and the leader Aussie Hanna Green shot 61 -14 total with American Sarah Schmelzel 63 -13 right behind her with Chinese Peiyun Chien 65 -13, shooting low was in order to stay in contention.

Brooke Henderson was right in there with birdies in her first 6 holes, out in 31 near the lead at -10 on the big scoreboards.

However she gave most of that back with a bogey at 14th, a double at the 15th and another bogey at the 16th, all the rest pars for a 40 and -1 71 now T52 at -6.

Wild day for Cockerill at Hero Indian Open..Live scoreboard

DP World Tour ; Hero Indian Open Leaderboard

Soccer goalies pride themselves on keeping " a clean sheet" while golfers call it a "bogey free round"

Jason Butler/Getty Images

It was anything but for Teulon's Aaron Cockerill earlier this morning on the DLF G&CC in New Delhi on moving day

Six bogeys and a double combined with six birdies and just five pars led to +2 74 dropping him 16 places to a T40 at -3

He went out in E, but that consisted of 3 bogey's at 2, 5,6 followed by 3 birdies in a row at 7,8,9 for an unlikely E 36

His 4th birdie at the 10th followed by another at the 13th  had him in good shape at -7 on the leaderboard. Then he got back on the rollercoaster with a double and 3 bogey's from 14-18 sandwiching a birdie at the 17th, home in +2 38 for his 74 and -3 heading into Sunday's final round.

The Japanese rookie Keita Nakajima continues to lead by 3 at -17 with round 3 winding down as I write.

Manassero back in form Hero Indian Open, full leaderboard/ TEE TIMES

DP World Tour : Hero Indian Open Leaderboard Tee Times

Matteo Manassero continued his fine recent form to join Joost Luiten and Keita Nakajima at the top of the leaderboard after day one of the Hero Indian Open.

Matteo Manassero

The Italian created one of the stories of the season earlier this month when he won the Jonsson Workwear Open for his first DP World Tour victory in almost 11 years, completing a remarkable comeback after losing his card in 2018.

His bogey-free 65 saw him sit next to early pacesetter Luiten and they soon had Nakajima for company as the Japanese came home in 30 to also get to seven under at DLF Golf & Country Club.

English pair Sam Bairstow and Jordan Smith were then one shot off the lead alongside Frenchman Romain Langasque.

Manassero may have missed the cut last time out in Singapore but he was back to his South Africa form in New Delhi, missing a good chance to tie the course record on the last.

"Today was a really special day," he said. "Every time a tournament starts there’s a blank page. You prepare but on a course like this things can go the wrong way very easily.

"Today from the tee and into the greens I was extremely solid, so I’m really pleased about that and the result with not making any bogeys on a course like this. Seven under par is really good."

Luiten is something of a specialist at DLF G&CC, having finished in a tie for ninth in 2018 and third last year in his two previous appearances.

After losing his card in 2022 following 12 consecutive years on Tour with six wins, he bounced back to finish 26th on the Race to Dubai Rankings in Partnership with Rolex and has three top-25s from seven starts so far this season.

"I have good memories from last year, I was struggling with my game before that but finished third in Thailand and then third here," he said. "I like this golf course, it’s very demanding and you just have to hit it straight. It’s suits my game, especially today."

Nakajima - who spent a record 83 weeks at the top of the World Amateur Golf Ranking - is playing his rookie campaign on the DP World Tour after topping the Order of Merit on the Japan Golf Tour last season.

"I’m very happy with this score and I’m feeling very good," he said. "It’s a great course but I felt a bit nervous over the tee-shots. But I’m very comfortable with my swing and ball-striking.

"I’m very excited to be on the DP World Tour and very honoured to be playing with great players. I like travelling many countries."

Spanish pair Angel Hidalgo and Adrian Otaegui, German Jannik de Bruyn, Swiss Joel Girrbach, Dutchman Daan Huizing, Frenchman Jeong weon Ko and Paraguay's Fabrizio Zanotti were two shots off the lead.

Jesper Svensson won his first DP World Tour title with a play-off victory over Kiradech Aphibarnrat at the Porsche Singapore Classic.

Jesper Svensson wins Singapore play-off for first DP World Tour victory

The Swede matched the course record with a closing 63 at Laguna National Golf Resort Club to get to 17 under but extra holes were required as Aphibarnrat eagled the last in a 64.

Both men made a birdie on the first trip up the last and then exchanged a pair of pars before Aphibarnrat went over the back and made a bogey, leaving Svensson two putts for a par and victory.

Svensson may have turned professional nearly five years ago, winning on the Nordic Golf League in 2020, but his big breakthrough came last year with his victory at the B-NL Challenge Trophy on the European Challenge Tour

catch the eye, finishing second at the Investec South African Open Championship this season in just his sixth DP World Tour start.

Another runner-up finish came at the Bahrain Championship presented by Bapco Energies but he has now gone one better to win the opening event of the DP World Tour's Asian Swing.

"It's been a lot of good golf so it was nice to finally come out on top," he said. "It's very hard to win so it's really nice.

"It's been a long journey. To win on my first season out here, I couldn't have dreamt of it. It's always been a dream to be a winner on the DP World Tour and to achieve it feels amazing.

"Combined with Challenge Tour last year and the beginning of this season I've had five second-place spots in the last year. I really wanted to come out on top here.

David Micheluzzi produced a birdie-birdie finish in an impressive 66 to take a one-shot lead into the final round of the Porsche Singapore Classic.

David Micheluzzi edges ahead in Singapore

The Australian was stalking the leaders all day but it did not look like he would finish the round on top when Sam Bairstow opened up a four-shot lead around the turn at Laguna National Golf Resort Club.

A pair of bogeys on the back nine in the Englishman's 68 left the door ajar, however, and it was Micheluzzi who took advantage to move to 13 under and edge ahead.

Andy Sullivan recovered from back-to-back double-bogeys to post a 69 and sit alongside countryman Bairstow, one clear of India's Shubhankar Sharma, who carded a 68.

Rookie Micheluzzi is looking for his first DP World Tour win this week but knows how to get over the line, having claimed four wins on the PGA Tour of Australasia in the last 17 months.

Three of those helped him win the Order of Merit in 2023, earning his place on the DP World Tour, where he has two top tens from 20 starts.

He finished in a tie for 17th at last week's PGA Tour of Australasia 2024 season finale and revealed a change of equipment is helping him after a recent "breakdown" playing Down Under.

"I've basically changed everything," he said. "I've got a whole new set in: new irons, new driver, new three-wood, new grips. I basically did a whole reboot and it's nice."

He added: "Today was very hot, you could see me with the towel over the head basically the whole day. I just try not to get angry because that would make it worse, just be as patient as possible, take as much time as I need and keep a wet towel on me.

"The first eight holes I didn't play so great and then the last ten I really got dialled in and holed some putts which was nice."

Thai amateur TK Ratchanon Chantananuwat, England's Paul Casey, Scot Ewen Ferguson and Austrian Matthias Schwab were at ten under, a shot clear of Thailand's Kiradech Aphibarnrat, Frenchman Matthieu Pavon, England's Jordan Smith and Swede Sebastian Söderberg.

edit***** Canada's Aaron Cockerill posted a clean card in round 1, but today he had a double, 3 bogeys and 5 birdies for E 72 and heads into the final round T44 -4.
