Roger Sloan shoots 62 to share first round lead at rainy Wyndham Championship.. Live scoring

Wyndham Championship Friday leaderboard https://www.pgatour.com/competition/2020/wyndham-championship/leaderboard.html

The Sedgefield CC is reknown for low scoring, and yesterday's weather delayed opening round of the Wyndham Championship was no different.

Canadian Roger Sloan, who has exempt status next year is currently 178th in Fed Ex standings, and with this being the last regular season event before the playoffs, the top 125 will qualify.

He set a personal best -8 62 playing alongside American Tom Hoge who duplicated Sloan's score, with both having chances to go even lower. Earlier in the day, Harold Varner who went to college at nearby East Carolina, set the table with a 62 of his own.

Those three lead the field into today's 2nd round, with 33 players unable to complete their first round due to bad weather, and as I mentioned in my preview there is the chance of more throughout the weekend.

The field has been sent out off split tees beginning at 7am this morning hoping to get round 2 completed and the cut made before the weekend. It is projected at -2.

Other Canadians: Michael Gligic +3 73, Corey Connors -1 69, David Hearn +2 72 are all playing in the late wave today.
