Mike Weir is in contention, Saturday at Bridgestone Senior Players.. Live scoring..

Bridgestone Senior Players leaderboard  https://www.pgatour.com/champions/competition/2020/bridgestone-senior-players-championship/leaderboard.html

The South course at Firestone is legendary, the host of many great moments in golf and dubbed "The Monster" by Arnold Palmer after he took a triple bogey on the 600+ yard 16th during the 1960 PGA Championship.

This week the best the PGA Tour Champions field can do going into today's 3rd round of the Bridgestone Senior Players, is one player under par, Jerry Kelly and he leads a bunched leaderboard by 3 shots at -2.

Yesterday Mike Weir who is nicely placed T6 +2, had a very good round of E 70. Having shot a struggling 40 on the back nine on Thursday, he was off the 10th to begin Friday, and played it 4 strokes better at 36, then made the turn with a birdie on 10  where he took a double on Thursday, and followed with 8 straight pars for 34 and that 70.

He is playing today with a guy you may remember, Dicky Pride, and the wild man Woody Austin at 11.50am off the 1st tee in the 4th last group.

Stephen Ames begins today 73 75 +8 and David Morland is having a tough time like so many, 76 75 +11.

Remember when you are watching this is the first major of the year for the Senior circuit so the course is tough, birdies are rare, par is good and so is bogey at times on this par 70, tight tree lined course, with penal rough for the first cut, and worse further in. The greens are fast and tricky, made worse by some pin placements.

Anyone who has a banner day and posts a 66 will charge up the leaderboard.
