USGA: "Thursday morning’s winds whirl from the get-go gusting near 20 mph (32km/h), but eventually peaking at 35+mph (57km/h) with the chance of a stray shower/storm. It will also become more humid Thursday with highs only in the mid 70s (22*c) under more clouds than sun".

The USGA spokesman told us late yesterday afternoon they are expecting a 1992 type Sunday at Pebble Beach US Open weather day.
" Windy conditions combined with lightning fast greens made scoring conditions extremely difficult. The scoring average was 77.3. Tom Kite won with -3 285."
I will update this post as the day moves on, the opening tee time is 6.35am, Ben Silverman and his pairing are due off #10 at 7.08am
Note: Any time the winds exceed 30mph (48km/h) becomes problematic with balls oscillating on the greens.
