Friday wrap up :  The horn sounded at 635am and 50 players completed their 1st rounds with Wyndham Clark maintaining his 4 shot lead. 64 -6.

Round 2 began at 655am under sunny skies and a blustery wind, scoring therefore was at a premium.

Wyndham Clark is clearly in great form right now, driving the ball in play, putting steadily his late start on Thursday when the wind subsided and he posted 64 has kept him ahead of everyone else 64 69 -7 by 4 shots.

The pack T2 at -3, are led by Matt Fitzpatrick, 67 70, Xander Schauffele with a fine 66 today to go with 71, little known Sam Stevens 68 69 and a resurgent Tom Kim 70 67

The round of the day 65 sees Collin Morikawa 6th at -2.

Only 10 players are under par.

USGA WEATHER : Friday features wind gusts 21-29km/h WSW, with clouds sticking around through the morning before attempting to clear in the afternoon, as temps 21-26*C stall just above average as drier air starts to move in. A wind shift allows air to rush in from the west and northwest Saturday with gusts of 40km/h mph looking likely. Rain 20%.

Thursday wrap up

After a 2 hour fog delay play in rd1 got underway at 905am with a brisk S wind to contend with all day, subsided in the early evening leaving benign conditions after dinner for the late wave before darkness suspended play at 8.25pm

In form Wyndham Clark took full advantage at -6 with a 4 shot lead after he played 16 holes over the field, all of whom are at -2 in various stages including Matt Fitzpatrick, Jon Rahm, and LIV Dustin Johnson.

Play in round 1 has resumed at 635am with 50 players already in position then the Friday tee times will be moved back by 15 minutes.
