PGA Tour : Travelers Championship Tee Times Leaderboard
Last week only 4 players broke par at Shinnecock Hills, this week at TPC River Highlands only 11 players out of 72 failed to break par. That is the backdrop for this week's $20,000,000 final signature event of 2026.
With rain earlier in the week, the Highlands course with soft greens was target practice time, a gift really after the diabolical test at the US Open, for these 72 of the best golf has on offer.
Eric Cole with 63 is the 18 hole leader, but only just, at -7.
Scott Scheffler -6 64 who hasn't won since January but keeps posting top 10's, said " when the scoring is lower (easier) it can be harder and harder to play catch up"
To his point he is in a group of 6 with the same 64 (includes Matt Fitzpatrick, Bud Cauley), another 6 at 65 and so on....
Canadians
Corey Conners T8 -5 65
Taylor Pendrith T20 -3 67
Nick Taylor T32 -2 68
Weather note
It is raining early this morning, expected to let up by 8/9 am so the greens will be soft again today for scoring.
The hot humid air mass engulfing the NE coast will bring hot 84*f , 29*c, humid weather this weekend, not much wind and mainly dry.
May the shootout continue....
