Champions Tour Mitsubishi Electric Championship leaderboard https://www.pgatour.com/champions/leaderboard.html
Yesterday I wrote about how timely I thought the arrival of Ernie Els was to the PGA Tour Champions this weekend at the Mitsubishi Electric Championship in windy Hualalai. His second round 65 has him right in contention at -7, along with a few of the tour's most popular players.
Woody Austin is hardly a legend but his on course antics, usually at his own expense make him interesting to watch and he leads at -11.
Bernhard Langer shot 64 70 in an unusual SW wind which had all the par 5's into it. It was the opposite of Friday. He is at -10 and has won here 3 times.
Fred Couples (68) is T3 with Miguel Jimenez (71) at -9. Ernie as I mentioned had the low round of the day (65) and said afterwards he felt like a rookie on Friday, kind of out of place when he shot 72.
John Daly (68) is also at -7.
So there you have it. Six of the most popular guys on the Champions Tour, all very entertaining in a Sunday shootout on a stunning and very expensive Hawaiian resort surrounded by lava and the deep blue Pacific, in a stiff breeze..wish it were like that every week..
Hell I wish it were like that here !!
