International Team's brilliant week, falls just short to USA Sunday singles...Final results..

 2026 Presidents Cup, Medinah GC, September 25th -27th  

Despite the heavy bias by the American media, expectations of the American public, Geoff Ogilvy and his International Team led 10.5 to 7.5 heading into the Sunday singles needing just 4.5 points to tie, or 5 points to win.

The final score of 17 -13 USA in no way reflects how tense the atmosphere was at Medinah CC as match after match was close, the final outcome in doubt. 

Nico Echavarria, dismissed as "a decent player over in Europe" rallied to win 2 of his last 5 holes against Scheffler before shaking hands on the 17th green, down 2up.

Five matches went to the 18th green in American favour.

In the end Tom Kim, Sungjae Im won their matches while Nick Taylor tied with Russell Henley not enough to win the match.

Captain Ogilvy " We came here with high hopes, a really good team, a great enviroment. You couldn't ask for more than have a 3 point lead on the road, in US, that's a hard thing to do. To be polite, we did all the hard work in the first 3 days.

I wouldn't do anything differently, I felt like our plan was pretty solid. The pairings all week were great weren't they.

In the end you have to make the shots and have the putts fall for you. As it turned out the American did that just a little better today"

A true gentleman, Geoff wouldn't add " having been outplayed all week, Sunday certainly saved their blushes"

The Ryder Cup, Solheim Cup and Walker Cup had already gone against the USA, and until late on Sunday this Presidents Cup was as well..
