Corey Connors was met by a huge cheer from all the Canadians on site when he teed off in Group 1 shortly after 8am this morning.
He has just finished his round with a 3 putt bogey at the 18th, but has a very good -2 70 for the clubhouse lead. (Bogey at 3, birdie at 6, birdie 13, birdie at 14. where he hit the flagstick. eagle at 15, bogey at 18)
Mike Weir has shot a very solid E 72.
Round 1 is well underway, the afternoon wave is going out and as they do Corey Connors has the clubhouse lead at -2 and Mike Weir at E.
The leader on course at -4 is South African Justin Harding playing the 18th. He has been playing very well on the European Tour having won for the first time in Qatar.
Tiger is -1 playing his back nine, Rory is E approaching the turn.
