PGA Tour Valero Texas Open leaderboard https://www.pgatour.com/competition/2019/valero-texas-open/leaderboard.html
It was a great finish yesterday for Corey Connors, birdieing 4 of his last 5 holes to take and hold the clubhouse lead for a few hours at this Valero Texas Open until Si Woo Kim made a hole in one at the par 3 16th to open up a 4 shot lead going into today's play.
Corey is not alone at -8 and he will be paired at 12.25 this afternoon with Texan Jordan Spieth who is finally back in contention, so a large gallery will be following that pairing.
Also in the group at -8 is headliner Rickie Fowler playing this event for the first time.
Other Canadians: Nick Taylor T36 69 72 -3, Mac Hughes T36 70 71 -3, Adam Svensson T48 73 69 -2.... Roger Sloan +3 and Ben Silverman +8 both missed the cut.
Corey is 1st in shots gained approach to the green, 2nd in SG tee to green, 1st in greens in regulation and 28th in putting after two rounds. He is looking for his first win, which would also earn him a trip to Augusta next week.
Let's not get ahead of ourselves, Corey has produced solid numbers on moving day to stay in contention and even lead, however he hasn't closed very well on Sunday's.... so far.
