Brooke Henderson and Nelly Korda played a lot of junior golf together and they will be again today, this time there is a lot more at stake.
Brooke shot -3 69, Nelly -1 71 and they are T1 at -14 going into the final round later today at the LOTTE Championship with a strong pack right behind them.
Brooke had a bogey and a birdie, out in E 36, but added 4 birdies on the back nine before making a bogey at the last for her 69. She used 28 putts, 12/18 greens in regulation, but on the windiest day of the week averaged 298 yards off the tee.
" It was really windy today and I kind of battled my way through the front nine, but then I made a lot of birdies on the back nine and that was fun. Everything depends on the wind here. There are a lot of really good players close to the lead so anything can happen on Saturday".
Should Brooke prevail she not only would successfully defend her title, she would join Sandra Post, Mike Weir and George Knudson with 8 professional wins. No pressure right !!
Another junior foe, Australian Minjee Lee 70 is at -13 as is Korean Eun Hee Ji 74 . Lurking at -12 is Thailand's Ariya Jutanugarn who shot a 66.
Alena Sharp is T44 at -2.
