LPGA LOTTE Championship leaderboard http://www.lpga.com/leaderboard

It's a big week for any of us when we get a chance to visit is island paradise of Oahu in Hawaii. This week Brooke Henderson is there defending the LOTTE Championship she won last year and in the process joining elite company in Canadian golf with eight professional wins.

On a relatively calm Wednesday she shot -7 65 which included a chip in eagle, T3 after the first round.

Alena Sharp shot -3 69 T26.  Anne Catherine Tanguay E 72 T81, Jaclyn Lee +1 73, Brittany Marchand +2 74.

The leader with a bogey free -9 63 is Nelly Korda on the Ko Olina GC.

" The key to scoring here is definetly the wind, if it's low, the scoring will be really low but when it blows it makes it much more difficult. Then par is good and you have to take advantage of the holes that are downwind."

Last year she shot 69 and won by 4 shots on a Saturday of high winds and rain.

Sandra Post, George Knudson and Mike Weir all had eight wins, Brooke has seven and she only turned pro in 2015

This event runs from Wednesday -Saturday.
